Black Zipper® Blades

It is our Signature Series turbo-segment porcelain blade with a reinforced core, built to cut porcelain and ceramic tile cleanly on a wet saw or grinder. The reinforced core is what keeps a thin tile blade tracking straight instead of flexing, which is the usual cause of a chipped or wandering cut.

4", 4.5", 5", 7", 8", 10", 12" and 14", so the same blade family covers a hand grinder and a big wet saw. Order the arbor your saw actually takes instead of relying on a reducer bushing, which can let the blade run off-center.

The black Zipper® Pro is the everyday porcelain blade and is stocked in the widest size range. The red Mesh Zipper® Pro is built for mesh-backed and mosaic tile. The blue Zipper® Heavy Duty is for high-volume work in dense porcelain where blade life matters more than price. Tell us the tile and the volume and we will point you at the right one.

Bond is matched inversely to the material: harder, denser tile takes a softer bond so fresh diamond keeps exposing, and softer or more abrasive material takes a harder bond so the segment does not wear away. The Zipper® family is bonded for porcelain and ceramic. Tell us what you are cutting and we will confirm the right blade rather than guess from the color.

Cut wet whenever you can. Water cools the core, flushes the slurry out of the kerf and is most of the reason a porcelain cut comes out chip-free. If you have to cut dry on a grinder, keep the passes short so the core does not overheat, and use dust extraction.
